Why is the rubber wearing down on my Rebel 17?
Most common problem is spilling slurry from the drum. If any slurry or grit is hung up on the lip of the drum it will drip on the rollers and wear them down.
Drum is not centered on guide wheels. Make certain the drum is not sitting on top of either guide wheel.
Snap rings are not seated in the grooves of the shaft. Before each use make sure all snap rings are in place and holding the rubber secure.
Drum is contacting plastic guide wheel on end of idler shaft. If the bottom edge of drum is contacting the guide wheel on the idler shaft (non motor shaft), then remove it as it is no longer needed.
Do I need to center the driveshaft on the bearings?
No, push the driveshaft to the opposite side of the motor and secure the set screw on the bearing. The snap ring by the large plastic pulley should be tight against the bearing.
