Rebel 17 Tumbler

Product Review (submitted on March 9, 2014):

Ever since I saw my brothers Thumler Model B, I wanted one. I read a lot of reviews and saw a lot of videos too. There were some concerns expressed by several reviewers. The motor support, or lack of support, allowed some vibration. Rust inside the drum due to the inside not being painted. Wingnuts and washers to fumble with on the drum lid. I saw the Extreme Rebel 17 on the STM web page and decided to get this model because all the nuts others posted were taken care of. Even pillow block bearings were added to increase the overall load rating. This is top notch. The wingnuts were changed out with knobs that have metal threaded inserts. A bracket on the rear of the motor totally eliminating vibration. The drum is powder coated inside and out. What was an impressive touch was the packaging for shipping. I had opted for the complete kit and it arrived in one large box. Inside there were two more boxes. No popcorn packing. Inside one of the two boxes contained yet another box that held the tumbler resting within a foam liner. The second box contained the media separator. No popcorn packing. I hate that stuff. Overall, this packaging was perfect. Nothing was damaged. It's too bad other manufactures don't read the reviews people post and implement changes they suggest. This tumbler was meant to last a lifetime. Good job STM and thank you.
